Food data
Generic food data uses Bundeslebensmittelschlüssel (BLS) 4.0, Max Rubner-Institut, under CC BY 4.0, and USDA Agricultural Research Service FoodData Central Foundation Foods under CC0/public-domain terms. Sledge adapts these datasets into a searchable SQLite catalogue, normalizes names and columns, and selects energy, protein, carbohydrate, fat and fibre values. Source versions, checksums and transformations are recorded in the bundled catalogue manifest. BLS downloads and USDA downloads provide the original data. The source-specific data licences grant their own reuse rights and are not restricted by the Sledge licence.
Packaged-product searches use Open Food Facts: its database is under the Open Database License and individual database contents under the Database Contents License. Product images are not used. Its bounded on-device cache retains provider snapshots separately from the generic catalogue and expires them after 24 hours. Keeping sources separate does not remove the Open Database License's attribution and applicable share-alike obligations. Personal diaries are not published. Source attribution does not establish product accuracy or complete market coverage.
